Batman Series ‘Gotham’ will have origin stories for classic villains, young Wayne
Fans have been eager for more information on the upcoming Batman series ‘Gotham’ and this morning FOX had a few announcements that should please the crowds. It was FOX’s entertainment chairman, Kevin Reilly, that confirmed that the series won’t just focus on Commissioner Gordon (though he will be the main role) but that it will also include stories based on the Riddler, Joker and Catwoman.
Reilly stated at the press-event, “This is not one of the things where you bought a franchise and then none of characters people know,” adding, “We will follow Bruce Wayne right up until the point where he gets interesting.”
Behind the camera sits executive producer and show runner Bruno Heller, who sits as writer as well. As for Bruce Wayne, you can expect to see him appear on the series at about 12 years old. “It’s Gotham teetering on the edge,” Reilly explained. “This is all of the classic Batman characters.”
So far we have Joker, Riddler, Penguin and Catwoman but you can rest assured more will be added depending how the series does on FOX. Eventually if the series takes off, thou can expect the early days of Batman as well.
