Johnny Cash’s Lost Album Out Among The Stars gets a trailer
The country music icon Johnny Cash will be releasing a new album in March 2014, and the newly discovered works now have their own trailer. The LP is a collection of previously unreleased tracks that were recorded by Cash in the early 1980s.
It was the Cash estate that funded the trailer and the publication of the ‘new’ album, title ‘Out Among the Stars’. The album will have 12 tracks, all never released before, and includes works with Cash’s wife, June Carter Cash, and Waylon Jennings.
Cash’s son, John Carter Cash, is shown in the trailer. The trailer may be on the shorter side but it dies dredge up fond memories of the famous musician. The songs were found in the Sony Music Archives, and like so many of Cash’s songs, were recorded in Nashville, Tennessee. Both of the songs were recorded at the 1111 Sound Studios, either in 1981 or 1984 and both times with producer Billy Sherrill for Columbia Records.
In an interview with the AP John Carter Cash stated, “We were so excited when we discovered this,” adding “We were like, my goodness this is a beautiful record that nobody has ever heard. Johnny Cash is in the very prime of his voice for his lifetime. He’s pitch perfect. It’s seldom where there’s more than one vocal take. They’re a live take and they’re perfect.”
In the trailer you can hear “She Used To Love Me A Lot,” this will be the fourth album released after Johnny Cash died in 2003.
