Amazon offers $20 gift cards for late Christmas shipping due to UPS
Amazon often partners with UPS to delivery the millions of package it ships over the holiday season, but this year UPS failed to meet customer expectations and promises. This year a UPS bottleneck wrecked havoc across the country, causing packages to miss the holiday deadline.
Due to the error, Amazon is offering a $20 gift card to affected customers. In a report from Geekwire Amazon is also refunding shipping charges to those customers that were promised Christmas Day or earlier shipping dates.
Earlier today Amazon confirmed that a record 1 million customers signed up for its Prime membership in just one week going into the holidays. In a press-release sent out earlier today Amazon stated, “Amazon Prime membership continues to grow, and we now have tens of millions of members worldwide. They benefit from all-you-can-eat free two-day shipping on millions of eligible items and our members have a voracious appetite,” said Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO of Amazon.com. “We are extremely grateful to our customers around the world and wish everyone the very best for the coming year.”
