Marvel Studios adds Vin Diesel to cast of Guardians of the Galaxy

It may hard to keep up, seeing that Marvel has been releasing a few comic-book inspired movies a year, but if you are keeping track add Vin Diesel to ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’. It was Diesel himself that confirmed the role, posting a photo on Facebook with the character Groot, who Diesel will be voicing for the film.

It should be noted that Diesel has not yet been announced as the voice but both the Director, James Gunn, and Diesel have eluded to the role prior to the Facebook posting. Gunn even posted the same photo of Diesel on WhoSay adding, “Vin Diesel is a super awesome dude. I can’t tell you how much I like this guy.”

If you need even more proof, when asked by a fan on the same Facebook page if Diesel was voicing the character Dunn replied, “I hope so because I’d hate to think I spent all this time recording him for no reason.” As for the model in the picture (Groot that is) Dunn stated, “This was the bust we used for reference when shooting. It has changed slightly from this since we started animating him.”

Looking for more info on the Thanos sighting (you know the one, if not watch the Avengers) Dunn states, “I hope this puts to rest all the silly Thanos-Vin stuff which people just seemed to make up out of nothing.”

Other confirmed cast members include, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Benicio del Toro, John C. Reilly and Glenn Close and is scheduled to release on August 1, 2014.
