British Court sides with Harry Styles in paparazzi case
In a surprising turn, a British Court has ruled in favor of Harry Styles, a member of the popular group One Direction, in a case revolving around the paparazzi’s allowed presence near the performer’s home.
With the new ruling, the judge has ordered paparazzi must stay away from One Direction member Harry Styles, and limits their behavior at his personal address. The order, from Justice Nicola Davies, now bars several photographers from pursuing the singer (both by car or motorcycle) and are no longer allowed acts of surveillance and/or loitering within 50 meters (164 feet) of his home.
It was Styles’ lawyer, David Sherborne, who stated that singer had no other option but to go to the courts after he first addressed the photographers and asked them to leave. Styles’ lawyer also made it clear that Harry was not, “trying to prevent fans approaching him in the street and taking photos. He remains happy to do that, as he always has.”
This order was first given just last week, but a continuation was granted until yet another hearing on the matter could be given until January 13, 2014.
