4K and Ultra HD TVs prices plummet for the holidays
Now that traditional HDTV has become a standard in millions of homes across America, manufactures are busy pushing out the new model, the 4K TV. With manufacturers like Sony and Samsung leading the charge, prices for these TVs are falling at an incredible rate as we move into holiday 2013.
Earlier this year 4KTVs hit the market with an MSRP of $5,000 – a little over $6,000, which is a lot of money for a new television in almost every household. With the holiday season ending in about 13 days, these prices are falling dramatically, though they aren’t expected to stay low for a very long time.
That’s because soon more models will be rolling out, in more sizes, offering close to the same features as the ones that are available now. Odds are the newer units won’t have any dramatically new features, but the newer line means higher prices then this year’s current offerings.
That is good for the consumer though shopping this holiday season, you can now pick up a 4K Ulrtra HD TV on the cheap, even though it has basically the exact same features as a soon to be announced new model, at a fraction of the price.
Case in point, the Samsung line this year available online. The Samsung UN55F9000 55-Inch 4K Ultra HD 120Hz 3D Smart LED TV has an MSRP of $6,499, on-par with what we have seen this year for comparable televisions. That same TV is available today for just $2,997 on Amazon, a savings of a staggering $3,501.01 (or 54%).
You can add to that the $100 of streaming movies and music with the purchase of this Samsung television. Company’s are eager to give you free credit for streaming movies because that’s how most manufacture’s will get 4K content to you as the industry plays catch-up.
The smart TV will also allow you to play apps like Hulu Plus, M-GO, Netflix, Rhapsody Unlimited Music, or VUDU HD Movies without the need of any other devices, it’s all right there on your TV the moment you want it.
You can also compare it to the larger 4K model with an MSRP of $8,499, now chopped down to $4,497 for a limited time (a savings of $4,001.01 or 47%).
Samsung isn’t the only one dropping prices either. Sony is offering 30% Off select Sony 4K Ultra HD TVs. For a limited time, you can also pick up a free Sony 4K Ultra HD Media Player, and get $300 Off a Premium Sony Sound Bar for purchasing a Sony 4K TV through Amazon as well.
Overall they are extremely terrific deals for televisions that are far more capable than any of the standard HD offerings on the market today. If you enjoy being one of the first to jump on the next wave of electronics, you probably won’t find a better deal this year.
