FOX has confirmed that ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ will now move up one-week in the schedule to replace the currently halted project ‘Fast and Furious 7’. The move will have ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ releasing on July 11, 2014 from July 18, 2014.
The move cones after FOX temporarily halted the production of the Fast & Furious 7, which is set to be the next installment in the franchise. After the unfortunate death of star Paul Walker this past November, Universal has postponed the production of the film.
Back to the Planet of the Apes, the next installment hopes to build on the 2011 film ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’. The new film will be directed by by Matt Reeves and stars Andy Serkis, Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke and Keri Russell.
The film will focus on the lives of these individuals, but more than ten-years since the events of the last movie. On the ape-side you have Caesar (a motion-captured Serkis), who will try and create order of the newly dominated kingdom of apes.
