Jason Momoa of Game of Thrones, latest actor connected to Batman vs Superman
Technically the movie is the sequel to ‘Man of Steel’ but the minute Batman was added to the cast, fans have stuck with the title ‘Batman vs. Superman’. Recent reports indicate that the Game of Thrones’ horse-lord, Jason Momoa, is in talks with Warner Bros. to take on the role of either Doomsday or Martian Manhunter.
The director of the film, Zack Snyder, has been quiet on the matter. The most recent announcement was that Wonder Woman would be hitting the big-screen in the sequel and that was the last of the official casting. That role went to Gal Gadot. The two possible roles make a lot of sense, Doomsday was the horrific Kryptonian bred killing-machine that eventually killed the Man of Steel in 1992. Yes he came back after all but it did solidify his place in comic-book lore. This force would be the perfect reason to create the Justice League in the film, bringing Batman, Wonder Woman and Martian Manhunter to the table.
On the other hand if you did that, you would need a Martian Manhunter, so the two roles in question would be perfect for Jason Momoa to play, though we aren’t sure which of the two he is in talks for. The Manhunter, J’onn J’onnz, is one of the leaders of the justice League, and a staunch ally to Superman himself.
With Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and now Jason Momoa as a possible J’onn J’onnz, we have the Justice League basically on the rise. Coming back is Henry Cavill as Superman and Amy Adams as Lois Lane. The film is currently scheduled to release on July 17, 2015.
