As expected Disney’s new animated feature ‘Frozen’ has finally beat-out Lionsgate ‘Hunger games: Catching Fire’ at the weekend box-office. The other contender was Christian Bale’s new film ‘Out of the Furnace,’ which was unable to top the two blockbusters.
This marks the second week that Frozen has been in theaters, the film was unable to claim the number one-spot in it’s opening debut but with a studio estimates $31.6 million over the weekend, it took home the gold this weekend. “Hunger Games” had two amazing weeks at number one, and still took home an impressive $27 million in its third week of release at theaters to claim the number two spot.

The new film from Relativity Media “Out of the Furnace,” starring Christian Bale and Casey Affleck, took third-place but was no where near as successful as the November/December duo, the film tok in $5.3 million in its first-week, and capturing the third-spot overall.
