Not all of the reviews have been favorable for the live action depiction of the classic story ‘The Sound of Music,’ but NBC struck a gold-mine airing the live-event. NBC hosted the three-hour presentation, beating out the previous NBC winner, the “E.R.” series finale back 2009.
The event was a live telecast , earning a 4.6 rating among adults 18-49 with 18.47 million viewers. The event even held people’s attention, many of the viewers continue to watch all three hours of the presentation, according to the initial reports provided by NBC and its affiliates.
The pinochle of the night was at 8:30 when it hit a 5.0 rating in the demographic, it ended with a 4.2 with adults 18-49. The event was broadcast live on the east coast, without any hiccups or mistakes to report, it was then rebroadcasted during pacific time. The show itself was produced by Broadway’s own Neil Meron and Craig Zadan, who unfortunately were also tied to the doomed series ‘Smash’.
