Jennifer Lawrence Wins N.Y. Film Critics Circle Award
Jennifer Lawrence might have to make room on her mantle, the lovable actor was named best supporting actress by the New York Film Critics Circle for her performance in ‘American Hustle’. Lawrence already has won an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, and most of the world’s heart, now she could have another Oscar on the way.
The film itself did very well, it took him the top honor as best picture at the event. Other mentions from the evening include best actor Robert Redford in his role for All Is Lost; best actress went to Cate Blanchett for her work in Blue Jasmine; and best supporting actor went to Jared Leto for his work in Dallas Buyers Club. Steve McQueen was named best director for 12 Years a Slave.
Although it is another award, it isn’t too common for the Academy Awards and the N.Y. Film Critics Circle to match-up when it comes to awards. That being said Lawrence has been receiving high-praise for her work on American Hustle from almost every outlet in North America.
