Louis C.K. signs multi-year deal with FX Network
After a lot of negotiations, the FX Networks has signed with Louis C.K.’s to be a writer and director on a new TV series in the future, this multi-year is one of the largest of networks this year. The deal will allow the banner, Pig Newton, to both develop pilots and new series for FX Networks outlets. In the deal C.K. will get the option to write or direct any of the projects and take an exec producer credit.
Also on board is Blair Breard, exec producer of C.K.’s FX comedy “Louie,” as another exec producer or producer on any of the projects that also follow under Pig Newton.
“Working with Louis C.K. has been one of the most rewarding and enjoyable experiences of my career,” said FX Networks topper John Landgraf in a statement. “I am thrilled that our relationship with Louis and Blair Breard will continue for the foreseeable future through this deal with FXP. So many incredibly talented artists want to work with Louis and follow down the independent and idiosyncratic creative trail he has blazed. I can’t wait to see who he brings through our door, not to mention any new projects that he wants to create for us.”
This comes as C.K. prepares to premiere the fourth season of his show ‘Loui’ in May. This particular deal will still allow Loui to move networks, the comedian also gets the right to premiere comedy specials outside of the FX Networks (like HBO for example).
