Day-of-the-Dead-InsertZombie fans rejoice, for you have yet another film to look forward to in either 2014 or 2015 at the latest. According to reports earlier today, Millennium Films has chosen Mark Tonderai to direct a remake of the George Romero zombie film Day Of The Dead made in 1985.
In this new version a zombie outbreak has decimated the Earth’s human population, and while looking for a cure, humanity unleashes something far more sinister. Producing the film is Christa Campbell and Lati Grobman with Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Boaz Davidson and Terry Dougas serving as executive producers and Beth Bruckner as a co-producer on the project. Production is tentatively scheduled for the summer of 2014, though nothing is nailed down at this point.
Deadline was the first to report the story. This will be the second-time that the studio has remade the movie, the first attempt was back in 2008 with Mena Suvari and Nick Cannon. We can only hope this one is a little better.
