Averaging about 8 million views, CBS’ ‘How I Met Your Mother’ is doing quite well in its final season. That’s why CBS is excited to keep things going and has ordered a pilot for a spinoff series. CBS spoke about the possibility of a spinoff back in October 2013, talks began at 20th Century Fox TV for launching a female-centric version of the show, it wasn’t long before “How I Met Your Dad” starting getting a lot of buzz on social-media.
Now it has been confirmed that a spinoff, possibly named “How I Met Your Dad” is moving forward and it will start with the original show’s creators (Craig Thomas and Carter Bays). The duo will take on writing and exec producing along with “Up All Night” creator Emily Spivey.
As of right now the comedy will indeed be attached to HIMYM, and it will tell a story from the female point of view. The story will be a new one though, and it will contain all new characters and a new voice-over in the beginning. More details will be released as the show moves farther along in production.
