The original Hulu series ‘Quick Draw’ has been renewed for another season. The comedy surrounding a Harvard-educated Sheriff in a miserable town, has been picked up for another 10-episode second season set. That season is expected to air in 2014, though Hulu has not finalized the schedule at this time.
Quick Draw continued to be a hit on Hulu, it also came very highly recommended by our staff here when it debuted. The show comes from last year’s push towards original content, Hulu added “Deadbeat,” and “The Awesomes” to the line-up as well and both series will see a second season.
“The second season of ‘Quick Draw’ will continue to crack up current fans and win new ones,” said Charlotte Koh, head of development, Hulu Originals. “We’re really excited to see more of John Lehr and Nancy Hower’s comedic re-imagining of life in the Wild West in 1875.”
“Quick Draw” co-creator and star John Lehr returns as Harvard-educated Sheriff John Henry Hoyle, who uses his forensics expertise to solve crimes in a small Kansas town while trying to fit in with the townspeople who regard him with a healthy dose of skepticism. Season two of the procedural western comedy promises more laughs, romance and gun-slinging action with Deputy Eli (Nick Brown), saloon owner Honey Shaw (Allison Dunbar), outlaw Pearl Starr (Alexia Dox) and undertaker Vernon Shaw (Robert Clendenin).
The second season of “Quick Draw” will be executive produced by Nancy Hower and John Lehr and co-executive produced by Keith Raskin (“Key & Peele,” “The League”).The show is slated to premiere on Hulu and Hulu Plus in 2014.
