The last time we checked in with the Marvel Universe its was all about “The Avengers,” now the beloved X-Men and their nemesis are taking center stage with the first trailer for the movie. This marks the very first trailer for “X-Men: Days of Future Past” and as expected, this video details the complicated story. I say complicated because it involves a lot of time-travel, jumping between Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen to the younger version of their iconic characters James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender.
Wolverine is at the center of the film, story-wise that it is, and it will once again be played by Hugh Jackman. This is Jackman’s seventh Wolverine film, a virtual franchise in and of himself. In what could be considered “the present” Professor Xavier and Magento’s mutants are both near the end of their extinction, being hunted down and eradicated by sentinels. The plot involves stopping the man that created the machines in the 1960’s, before they were created. The man that invented the sentinels is named Bolivar Trask (played by “Game of Thrones” star Peter Dinklage).
All of the stars are accounted for, Halle Berry, Ellen Page, Anna Paquin, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicolas Hoult and that crew make up the lot from “First Class.”Just in case a few more mutants need a spinoff, there is also Evan Peters as Quicksilver, Omar Sy as Bishop and Booboo Stewart as Warpath. “X-Men: Days of Future Past” is set to open in theaters on May 23, 2014.
