The Avengers: Age of Ultron casts Scarlet Witch, Elizabeth Olsen
It seems that the rumors were true, Elizabeth Olsen has been cast in the next Avengers installment, ‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron’. According to Samuel L. Jackson (also starring in the film) Elizabeth Olsen was cast to play the iconic Scarlet Witch.
The film is the highly anticipated sequel to the worldwide hit ‘The Avengers’. In an interview with the WSJ Jackson (who play Nick Fury in the film) stated, “I don’t think we begin shooting before March of next year.” Jackson then said, ”I know we’re shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. [Elizabeth] Olsen, but I don’t know what she’s doing, if she’s on the inside or the outside. I haven’t seen a script.”
The reason Jackson was making the rounds was because he appeared in the second episode of the Avenger tie-in television series “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”. This week saw the second episode of that series.
Fans know the formidable Scarlet Witch, as the creation of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The character is the daughter of Magneto, and is also the twin sister of Quicksilver. It is expected that Quicksilver will appear in “The Avengers 2” as well. So far the leading man for the job has been leaning towards “X-Men: Days of Future Pasts” star Aaron Taylor-Johnson. If you are excited to see more Olsen, she will be starring in Legendary Entertainment’s “Godzilla,” in 2014.
