Apple’s long-awaited iOS 7 software will officially launch on September 18, 2013. The software has currently been in a long beta-testing phase for the last few months, and the release date was confirmed earlier today during Apple’s press-conference.
The new software will come with a completely new look, and a core redesign that will hit customers mid-September. Apple stated that the change in the OS is, “the biggest change to iOS since the original iPhone.” With a completely new UI, new colors, new fonts and new palates, it’s easy to see how many changes await customers when iOS 7 releases in just a week.
On the company’s website Apple states the OS is, “Nothing we’ve ever created has been designed just to look beautiful. That’s approaching the opportunity from the wrong end. Instead, as we reconsidered iOS, our purpose was to create an experience that was simpler, more useful, and more enjoyable — while building on the things people love about iOS.” It also states, “Ultimately, redesigning the way it works led us to redesign the way it looks. Because good design is design that’s in service of the experience.”
On September 18, 2013 the iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S will be able to download the new OS.
