Positively Viral: Postmodern Jukebox goes retro with Miley Cyrus’ We Can’t Stop
There is a new video making the rounds across the internet, and it’s a cover of Miley Cyrus’ popular summer jam ‘We Can’t Stop’. The song is made by Postmodern Jukebox, a group that takes pop-hits and turns them into vintage-sounding classics from the 1950’s. They are a pretty fun group, one that reminds me of ‘Me First and The Gimmie Gimmes,’ and if you don’t know who they are, then shame on you.
As for Postmodern Jukebox, their latest hit on the internet can be seen above, and even Cyrus’ fans should enjoy the cover. The full band line-up includes, Robyn Adele Anderson on lead vocals, Gerard Giddens – backup vocals, Scout Ford – backup vocals, Aaron Wright – bass, Chip Thomas – drums, Scott Bradlee – piano. The backup accompaniment that you hear are the the Tee Tones, and they do a fantastic job pulling everything together.
You can catch the rest of the bands performances on their dedicated YouTube channel, and really, give the Gimmies a try. If you would like to support the band, you can checkout their songs on iTunes below.
