A new film adaptation of Shakespeare’s eternal love-story ‘Romeo & Juliet) will be released this year, this time from a screenplay written by Downton Abbey’s Julian Fellowes. Directing the project is Carlos Carlei (The Flight of the Innocent). Once again the film will take the traditional style that it was originally written in, backed by another all-star cast including Hailee Steinfeld and Douglas Booth.
Starring in the new adaptation are Hailee Steinfeld (Juliet), Ed Westwick (Tybalt), Damian Lewis (Lord Capulet), Douglas Booth (Romeo), Paul Giamatti (Friar Laurence), Laura Morante (Lady Montague) and Tomas Arana (Lord Montague). The film hopes to see the same success as the 1996 version, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes.
The film is set to release in just a few weeks, opening on October 11, 2013.
