If you have missed the dozens of promos that have been airing lately, FX will be adding a new FXX channel and a few of the network’s best shows are moving to the new location to kick things off. Leading the move to FXX is ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,’ going into its last season. Another terrific comedy aimed for the new channel is ‘The League’. We hope that the new channel will allow FXX to stream more content online, currently shows like Archer, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and The League are available on Netflix, but new episodes do not make the jump to Hulu. A new network will allow more advertising for the network, and it could come with less-restrictive rules about online content in the future, without jeopardizing FX in any way.
FX hasn’t made any statements on the network’s plans to move into a more modern episodic-streaming program, but fans would most likely welcome the change. The new channel will launch on September 2, 2013. “Geared toward a young adult audience, the schedule will feature original series, movies, and acquired series,” the network explains on its official website. The company added, “FXX and its sister channels FX and FXM comprise FX Networks, a business unit of Fox Networks Group., Legit and the critically acclaimed late-night strip Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell. Chozen, a new animated comedy, will launch in first quarter 2014.”
