Patina Miller, Tony winning Broadway star, joins Hunger Games Mockingjay
Yet another role has been cast for the final two films, ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay pt. 1 and pt 2’, this time going to Patina Miller. Broadway fans should remember Miller from her Tony Award winning performance in Pippin, but also had roles in Sister Act and West End.
If that doesn’t job your memory, then you may remember her from her days on All My Children. The performer has been cast as Commander Paylor, she will appear in Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2. All of these announcements lead up to ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’, starring Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence alongside Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone, with Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland. The film is directed by Francis Lawrence, from a screenplay by Simon Beaufoy and Michael deBruyn, based upon the novel “Catching Fire” by Suzanne Collins and produced by Nina Jacobson and Jon Kilik.
The first installment of “The Hunger Games” was the 14th highest-grossing North American release of all time grossing nearly $700 million at the worldwide box office and we expect the sequel aims to surpass that number. The Hunger Games is set to release on November 22nd worldwide.
