EA has released a few new details regarding their highly anticipated new Battlefield installment, ‘Battlefield 4’. For the PS3 players that will be purchasing a PS4 in the future, you will want to purchase specially marked retail copies of Battlefield 4, these will include a one-time use voucher, that upon using it, will allow you to upgrade to the PS4 digital version of the game for a small fee. This will most likely be the model for all games going forward that will have a PS4 version developed for the system from PS3. The model was lightly discussed during Sony’s GamesCom event last month.
If you plan on picking up other popular fall titles like, ‘Call of Duty: Ghosts’, ‘Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag’, ‘Watch Dogs’ and ‘Battlefield 4’ for the PS3 and would like the PS4 version later, it should follow the same structure.
As for the BETA, that begins on October 1, 2013, half a month away at this point. The Battlefield 4 Open Beta on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on October 1, then the game “lights up on October 29” as CEO Peter Moore stated in a letter to fans…
“Playing early on the Xbox 360 or PS3 means you will be able to learn maps, unlock items, and build stats in Battlefield 4; or create your Ultimate Teams and more in FIFA 14 and Madden NFL 25. You can then seamlessly carry over a lot of cool content from the current gen game to a new Xbox One or PS4 version to get a jump on the competition.
Offers from many of our retail partners will help you buy Battlefield 4, FIFA 14 or Madden NFL 25 on the Xbox 360 or PS3, and then upgrade to an Xbox One or PS4 version for as little as $10.”
