As many fans are coming to terms with the idea of Ben Affleck playing a tired and worn-out Batman in the Man of Steel series, he is already moving on to another medium entirely. Creating a dynamic-duo of his own, Affleck has teamed up with Glenn Gordon Caron for a new Boston-based crime drama called “The Middle Man.”
FOX has already ordered a pilot of the series, set in Affleck’s home-state of Massachusetts. Details are slim at the moment but the crime-drama is set to take place in the 1960s, with the center character being Rudy MacAteer, an FBI agent that is tasked with taking down a portion of the Italian mafia in Boston.
It was Caron that wrote the pilot, he will also assume the role of showrunner. This will be Affleck’s first attempt at directing a television series, though if the show pushes for a single-camera set-up, the prominent director shouldn’t have any issues with the work.
