The CBS Corporation and Amazon.com have confirmed that both companies have renewed their content licensing agreement for season two of the hit CBS series UNDER THE DOME. The serialized drama from Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television, based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel of the same name, will return for its second season on the CBS Television Network in summer 2014.
Prime Instant Video will remain the exclusive online subscription home for UNDER THE DOME. Amazon Prime members will have unlimited streaming of all the series’ episodes four days after their initial broadcast on CBS and will be able to enjoy them on hundreds of compatible Amazon Instant Video devices including Kindle Fire HD, iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, Roku, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and the Wii U gaming console. Episodes of UNDER THE DOME will also be available for purchase and download exclusively at Amazon Instant Video (link below).
UNDER THE DOME, which premiered on CBS in June, is the most-watched series of the summer across broadcast and cable (14.85m), and is also the #1 broadcast series in adults 18-49 (3.9/11), and adults 25-54 (5.2/13). On Amazon, the first episode of UNDER THE DOME was the most watched TV premiere in the history of Prime Instant Video, and the show was watched by more customers of the service than any other series this summer.
UNDER THE DOME is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television. Steven Spielberg, Stephen King, Brian K. Vaughan, Neal Baer, Stacey Snider, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank and Jack Bender serve as executive producers.
