Christina Hendricks, Charlize Theron and Chloe Moretz set to star in Dark Places
The film adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s incredibly popular and best selling thriller ‘Dark Places,’ has acquired a diverse, and talented female cast. The book itself was named one of 2009’s best book by The New Yorker (more information on the book can be found below). The story is of a woman whose two sisters were murdered in “The Satan Sacrifice” of Kinnakee, Kansas.” Although the young girl survived, she testified that her then fifteen-year-old brother, Ben, was the killer.
The story then jumps twenty-five years later, and the “Kill Club”, a secret secret society that studies popular crimes, finds Libby and then asks her for details on the murders. The story rests on if Libby was telling the truth, lying now to make money, or if the cult actually killed her sisters.
The film will now star Christina Hendrick, Charlize Theron, Chloe Moretz, Corey Stoll and Andrea Roth. Hendricks will take the part of the older Krissi Cates character. Hendrick’s character Krissi , is now a stripper who also accused Ben of horrible acts in the past. The film has Gilles Paquet-Brenner as the director.
