Twitch confirmed for the PS4 to allow instant live-streaming for gamers
At GameCom 2013, Sony had a ton of great announcements for fans, one of them was that Twitch would be integrated into the new console. Starting this fall, PS4 from all over the world will have the ability to broadcast their gameplay direct to their Twitch channels.
The process couldn’t be simpler, just by pressing the new “Share” button on the DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller, users will be able to add content to their channels and share it with the entire world. THis also means that players that like to watch gameplay videos, they will soon have hundreds of thousand of hours of gameplay to watch, right on their PS4.
A note from the Entertainment Software Associations states, “Fifty-one percent of U.S. households own a dedicated game console, and those that do own an average of two.” Twitch states in there official announcement, “With Twitch coming to both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, odds are Twitch is going to be in a lot of living rooms in the very near future. We’re paving the way for every gamer to become an avid broadcaster, and putting those streams in front of more eyeballs than you’ve ever imagined. We thank you all for helping make this possible and we’re looking forward to seeing Twitch on next-generation consoles this Fall.”
