Fall 2013 is almost here, and with it comes back-to-school shopping and the pre-holiday season, needless to say it’s a very important time for retail outlets. J.Crew is trying something new this year and premiering their Fall/2013 catalog on Pinterest.

Pinterest detailed the ever popular September issue to J.Crew’s Pinterest followers earlier this morning (Monday). This is all part of J.Crew’s determined new stance on Social Media, the company failed to use social-media in previous years, sticking to the time-honored tradition of emails and catalogs. Now it seems that the modern clothing-line has decided that this shopping season will have a completely new social-media campaign, pushing out content to new users like never before.
You can expect to see a lot of new additions to J.Crew’s marketing arsenal over the next few weeks. The company will be releasing short online film series, on topics like custom monogramming, that will debut on August 21st.
A contest that allows customers to upload personal photos in a chance to be featured in an upcoming Style Guide, is yet another marketing technique that J.Crew will kick off this year. All of this is leading up to New York Fashion Week, beginning on September 5, 2013.
