Lifetime casts the two children in ‘Flowers in the Attic’ remake
Lifetime will be making another rendition of the classic tale “Flowers in the Attic,” the network has confirmed that it has cast the roles of two children. From AMC’s “Mad Men” young actress Kiernan Shipka has joined as Catherine, and Mason Dye be introduced as Chris.
The novel written by V.C. Andrews centers on four children who are forced to live in the attic after being abandoned by their mother Corrine (this time played by Heather Graham). They are kept by their terrible, religious grandmother, Olivia (played by Ellen Burstyn). The young children eventually spend their entire childhood in the attic, teaching each other, the two older children Catherine and Chris eventually become lovers.
The new project will be directed by Deborah Chow, writing credits include Kayla Alpert (adaptation and script).
