The Teen Choice Awards are a little late in the year, this makes the movies they are celebrating seem to have come out ages ago. The awards are usually a little bizarre as well, with ‘Choice Summer Movie Star: Female’ and ‘Choice Movie: Hissy Fit’ being two of the categories teens can vote on.
Still it’s an inside look at what films and TV shows are dominating one of the most lucrative markets in entertainment. The awards stretch across Television, music, film, sports, fashion, comedy and online shows and often mark the end of the summer. This year’s winners will be announced Sunday night during the show’s broadcast.
The frontrunner is the musical comedy “Pitch Perfect,” starring Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson with 11 nominations. In second place is the five year-long saga that is the the ‘Twilight’ series, with the final addition to the franchise “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2” with nine nominations.
Hosting the event is “Glee” actor Darren Criss and star of “Pretty Little Liars” Lucy Hale. All of the awards will be given out at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles. Voting may be closed but you can check out all the categories and nominations below.
