Glee has been cast into the shadows following the untimely death of Cory Monteith this year. It is now widely expected that this, or the next season will be final season for the 6 year run of the show.
Chairman Kevin Reilly spoke today about the death of Cory Monteith’s character on Glee. “The third episode will write Finn out of the show. That episode will deal directly with the incidents involved with Cory’s passing and the drug abuse in particular,” he stated. It is not clear if Reilly will die from drug overdose.
Ryan Murphy will air PSA’s with the cast to “speak directly with the audience,” on the subject. All money earned from the music from the third episode will go directly to starting a fund in Monteith’s name.
FOX LATER confirmed that Lea Michele, who he stated was a “pillar of strength,” will be returning to the show. He also called her, “an extraordinary human being.” Reilly stated, “I would not anticipate it going beyond two more seasons,” he continued, “Look, never say never, but there’s two very clear arcs to get to the end and conclude. If we discover a new crop of kids and there’s some breakout in life, who knows? But right now we’re just thinking about two more seasons.”
Monteith died at age 31 from a mixture of heroin and alcohol on July 13.
