Selena Gomez takes top album in the country from Jay Z, a first for the artist
Jay Z’s popular ‘Magna Carta Holy Grail’ has been kicked out of the number one spot this week, the newly released album from Selena Gomez ‘Stars Dance’ took number one in the charts. The number one album is sitting pretty on the Billboard 200 this week, having sold around 97,000 copies in its initial debut.
The album was assisted with the hit single “Come & Get It” (written by Ester Dean), this marks Gomez’s first number-one album. It will be hard for Gomez to beat Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines,” a single that has been number one eight-weeks in a row. That song received incredible press-coverage stemming from the steamy video that Thicke released earlier this year.
You can check out the single and get the popular album from almost any major music-store, the album of course is rocketing up iTunes album charts. You can preview the album on iTunes or Amazon below.
