Things may be getting a little too real for two stars of the series “Real Housewives of New Jersey”. According to official reports, two of the show’s leading stars have been indicted on federal charges including bank fraud and bankruptcy fraud.
The two stars named in the reports are Teresa and Giuseppe Giudice, who were both charged with a whopping 39-count indictment, that was just detailed today (Monday) in Newark, N.J. The accused are being charged with submitting fraudulent mortgage and loan applications dating from 2001 through 2008. It should be noted that this would have happened before they appeared on Bravo.
According to Prosecutors, the duo lied about their employment status and about their salaries at the time. Facing more charges, Joe Giudice is also accused of failing to file tax returns from 2004 through 2008. During that four-year stint, he is being reported of making almost $1 million dollars that he did not pay proper taxes on.
You can add that to that an allegedly faulty 2009 bankruptcy protection petition, which prosecutors say the couple did not include businesses they owned and they incorrectly submitted Teresa Giudice’s valid income, most likely in order to qualify.
