This will be the sixth time that Hugh Jackman has taken the role of ‘Wolverine’ in a film, but fans show little signs of getting tired of the actor shredding through another installment of the popular franchise.
Preliminary reports have Hugh Jackman’s new film from Fox opened with an impressive $55 million. ‘The Wolverine’ beat out the extremely popular horror flick “The Conjuring”. That film took second place while adding another $22.1 million to its North American coffers. In third place this weekend, “Despicable Me 2” with $16 million.
The hit-and-miss stylings of Woody Allen seem to be on an upward track, the film only opened in select theaters this weekend but managed to capture over $600,000 in only six theaters. As the summer blockbusters come to a close, we look towards the fall’s gigantic hits. Before then you have ‘Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters’ which is expected to take the number-one spot when it premieres later this month.
