NBC Cancelled Jessica Simpson show ‘Fashion Star’
There is one less reality-fashion competition in the world, now that NBC has officially pulled the plug on Jessica Simpson’s ‘Fashion Star’. The design competition show will no longer air new episodes on NBC. It was Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt that confirmed the cancellation at the Television Critics Association Press Tour in Beverly Hills. That event took place yesterday (Saturday).
The series, which starred Jessica Simpson and her friends Nicole Richie and John Varvatos, was hosted by Louise Roe. The show continued to decline in ratings since its premiere. The show rated a dismal 0.7 in the adults 18-49 demographic and only captured 2.76 million total viewers.
Elle MacPherson was the original host of the show, she was replaced with Roe in season two. The show also dumped low-priced fashion retailer H&M, with Express. The cancellation wasn’t too surprising once NBC made the announcement that it will be moving the series from Tuesdays to Friday nights.
