One of the most exciting television moments happening this fall is the 50th anniversary special for ‘Doctor Who’. The BBC has confirmed that all Dr. Who fans will be able to share the moment together, as the show is set to air at the same time across the world.
Reports from the BBC indicate that the episode will air in 200 different countries, mostly to allow dedicated fans the chance to watch the episode without leaks or live in fear of potential spoilers. “It’s always been our ambition to work with our broadcast partners so that international Doctor Who fans can enjoy the 50th Anniversary special at the same time as the UK,” the BBC said in a statement sent to the press. “We’ll have more details soon about our very exciting global plans for November.”
The episode is currently scheduled for November 23rd, 2013, the episode will also be available in select theaters in the U.K. Already confirmed for the special are 10th Doctor David Tennant, and 11th Doctor Matt Smith. Companions, old friends, enemies and possible hints toward the 12th Doctor are all on the table for the episode, an episode that has the chance to be one of the greatest the franchise has ever seen.
