Although it has only been a few weeks since the death of Glee cast-member Cory Monteith, crew of 20th Century FOX Television and the actors of Glee have released a statement concerning their current grieving process, and send a thank-you to fans.
After an emotional show of support from fans and Hollywood actors alike, FOX released this statement earlier today thanking everyone for their support. “Today, Ryan Murphy and Lea Michele gathered the cast, crew and producers of Glee, along with colleagues from the network and studio, to share memories and music in an emotional celebration of the life of Cory Monteith.”
The statement continued, “We thank the public for their continued outpouring of love and support as we grieve our friend and colleague during this difficult time.” It was earlier this month that FOX confirmed the new premiere of the series stating, ““In light of the tragic passing of beloved Glee cast member Cory Monteith, the series’ executive producers, 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Broadcasting Company have jointly decided to delay the start of production of Glee until early August.” FOX then stated, “Season Five of Glee will now premiere on Thursday, Sept. 26 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on Fox. No further details are available at this time.” The next Glee season was originally set to debut a week prior, on September 19.
