From “Jack Reacher” to “Gone Girl,” actor Rosamund Pike seems to be choosing her roles nicely. Pike has been confirmed to to star in David Fincher’s ‘Gone Girl’, she will star opposite Ben Affleck.
It was THR that first reported that Pike will accepting the role, 20th Century Fox bought the rights to the thriller Gone Girl, being financed alongside New Regency. Pike is set to play the wife, the woman who suddenly goes missing on her fifth wedding anniversary. In the film her husband (played by Ben Affleck) finds himself the prime suspect in the case.
Fincher has become a hot commodity in the film world, several leading ladies were up for the part, it was reported earlier this year that Charlize Theron, Natalie Portman and Olivia Wilde also had been considered but didn’t confirm for miscellaneous reasons, including scheduling. Producing the film is local American Reese Witherspoon, with Bruna Papandrea and Leslie Dixon. Author Gillian Flynn adapted the screenplay from the best-selling novel.
