Beats Electronics, the audio brand co-founded by Dr. Dre and Interscope Geffen A&M Chairman Jimmy Iovine, announced the next generation of the company’s iconic Beats By Dr. Dre Studio headphone. The new Studio marks “an elevated standard of quality, innovation and design for everything Beats brings to market moving forward, reinforcing the company’s commitment to exquisite form, function, and most importantly “Music is my first love,” said Dr. Dre according to the press-release sent out today.
r”It’s how artists and producers communicate with their fans, but if the sound isn’t right then the emotion isn’t right and the meaning gets lost in translation.” “With the original Studio headphone we set out to prove that people all around the world care enough about sound to invest in it – and we did,” said Jimmy Iovine. “Now we are taking it a step further. The new Studio is tuned with balance, accuracy and emotion, has a breathtaking design and truly innovative technology. This is the sound of the future.”
Introducing the new Beats Studio headphone
Sound: Each pair of Studio headphones is precisely tuned with new custom digital software called the Beats Acoustic Engine (BAE), to perfectly deliver a reengineered and reimagined Beats sound Design: Every detail in the new Studio was specially crafted to create a streamlined look, feel, and fit.
The new design features lighter materials, increased strength, improved flexibility and an acute attention to detail. There are no visible screws. There are no straight lines. The new design also features an ergonomic adjustment mechanism around the ear cups that enables them to adjust to the head without restriction via a single floating pivot.
Noise Canceling: The new Beats Studio features adaptive noise cancellation (ANC), which switches between two modes. In music mode, sound quality and noise cancellation are perfectly balanced to deliver a premium listening experience. When unplugged, the headphone provides a more aggressive noise reduction experience. All of the materials – from the ear cups to the headband – work in concert to isolate sound and improve the acoustics of the new Studio.
Power Management: No more changing batteries. Beats Studio is a noise- cancelling headphone with a rechargeable, 20-hour, Lithium-Ion battery. Charge it in any USB port or outlet. A 5-light LED battery fuel gauge indicates how much charge is left while an auto on/off feature automatically shuts down the headphone once it is unplugged.
The new Studio retails for $299.95 and will be widely available beginning August 2013.
