It seems Jessica Alba is picking up quite a few roles in 2013 and 2014. The actress will of course be coming back in ‘Machete Kills’ later this year, but has also signed on to the new 2014 comedy ‘Stretch’. Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions confirmed Alba to the role earlier today, the film stars Ed Helms, Patrick Wilson, Chris Pine, and Brooklyn Decker.
The project will be directed by Joe Carnahan and centers on a limo driver (played by Patrick Wilson) who meets a billionaire (Chris Pine) who causes more and more problems for the driver before his shift is over. Universal has set a March 21, 2014 release date on the film and it is being produced by Jason Blum, Leon Corcos, Carnahan and Tracy Falco. Nila Najand has signed on as a co-producer with Charles Layton taking the role of executive producer.
You can expect more details about the film, and an eventual trailer, as we get closer to the release date.
