The CW series ARROW was one of the network’s hits this year, and at Comic Con the network came prepared to get fans ready for season two. During the show’s Comic-Con panel, the network released the trailer that you see above, much to the delight of the audience.
The sneak peek of season two seemed to be a complete surprise to most of the crowd, who began cheering the moment it was over. Also a surprise, the fact that John Barrowman stopped by the event. It was Damian Holbrook, from TV Guide, who introduced the panelists (Stephen Amell, Katie Cassidy, David Ramsey, Emily Bett Rickards, and Colton Haynes) with executive producers (Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Andrew Kreisberg). Just before they came on stage Ben Brown from Warner Bros. Publicity had the trailer ready-to-go for the fans that waited in long-lines to see the cast.
The obvious attraction in the trailer is the addition of Summer Glau (Serenity) who we reported joined the cast earlier this month. New tech awaits Oliver as Felicity; Queen industries still suffers from Starling City’s devastation; Then the new masked female superhero enters. “It’s about Oliver becoming the hero,” Kreisberg told the crows. Arrow is becoming Green Arrow. Also teased was how Oliver will have “a couple more heroes helping him out this season.”
The season premiere will take place five months after the devastating events of season one’s finale, which included Starling City being virtually destroyed and the death of Oliver’s closest friend, Tommy Merlyn (played by Colin Donnell). As you can imagine when John Barrowman appeared the room exploded with shock, he said that he “would be happy to come back into this family.”
Another big surprise was the addition of The Black Canary to the cast, and that Glau will be playing a villain named Isobel Rochev.
The new season will premiere October 9 on the CW.
