Mortal Instruments City of Bones, Lily Collins and Jamie Bower discuss roles at Comic Con
Based on the best-selling novel by Cassandra Clare, ‘The Mortal Instruments City of Bones’ received a lukewarm reception when the trailer was shown at Comic-Con this year. Though the crowd may have seem tepid inside the convention, and a bit hesitant to accept another sci-fi teen story into their lives, fans have been adamantly excited for the new series.
Both of the film’s stars, Lily Collins and Jamie Bower, appeared for fans at Comic-Con in San Diego. The two talk about their roles in the film, what they loved about their characters and Bowers talked about the physical demands of his role.
Bowers also took a moment to compare himself to Brad Pitt, not just once but twice, stating that he wanted the physical appearance of Brad Pitt’s body from ‘Fight Club’ or even ‘Snatch’ and that he sort of “looked like Brad Pitt’ at Comic-Con this year (he said that about his hat and outfit and nothing else we hope). It was hard to see the comparison with his nose-ring.
The story of the film centers around the abduction of Clary Fray’s (Lily Collins) mother. Unbeknownst to Clary, her mother was a demon-hunter. Clary finds out truths about her past and bloodline through a demon-hunter she meets, Jace Wayland (Jamie Bower) and goes out on a quest to get her back and takes up the family business.
The film was directed by Harald Zwart and written by Jessica Postigo. All together the film stars Lily Collins, Jamie Campbell Bower, Robert Sheehan and Jonathan Rhys Meyers.
