After months and months of waiting, San Diego Comic Con has finally arrived and although there is already a line at 5am to pick up badges, everyone seems to be in terrific spirits.
If you were lucky enough to get passes this year than you should already have your day mapped-out, if you’re following at home these are the movies to watch this year. We of course will be bringing you all the trailers, pictures and reveals from this year’s panels, so stay tuned for more info from San Diego.
“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire”
This year fans can see Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth and the rest of the star-studded cast as ‘The Hunger Games’ makes it Comic Con debut. There will be a brand new trailer that will share with you later on today and the cast and crew are sure to reveal some terrific details on the upcoming sequel.
“Ender’s Game”
The fact that Harrison Ford will be attending the Comic Con panel is more than enough reason for many to wait outside Hall H but stars Abigail Breslin, Hailee Steinfeld and Asa Butterfield are expected to attend as well. New footage, news of the battle room and more details about the film will be released at today’s panel.
“Captain America: The Winter Soldier”
Fans have waited long enough for the return of this popular Avenger. The movie will have Captain Steve Rodgers battling a new villain (one that we will learn more of this afternoon). Expect more shields, more reveals and more footage.
“Godzilla”
This one is going to be big, literally. The posters so far show a scale model of Godzilla that towers over any other Godzilla that has been forth on film. The film is set to release next summer, and this year director Gareth Edwards is ready to reintroduce Godzilla to the masses. The film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen and Bryan Cranston. Today will be the first real trailer from the film and probably the first real images of Godzilla.
“Thor: The Dark World”
So many Marvel movies, but we don’t think any of the fans mind that at all. This movie will be officially represented at Comic Con. The sequel is once again starring Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman, we already got to see one trailer so far for the film, so much of the plot is already out in the open. There should still be a lot of surprises in store for fans though, and we could get to know more about a third installment today.
“X-Men: Days of Future Past”
We already know that Jennifer Lawrence will be on hand to promote ‘The Hunger Games’ so you can expect to see her drop by this panel as well. Also on deck to make a surprise stop is any of the gigantic crew (Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Ellen Page, Hugh Jackman, Anna Paquin, Peter Dinklage, Michael Fassbender, Halle Berry, James McAvoy, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and Lucas Till).
“Divergent”
Starring Shailene Woodley and Theo James, It may not be as big as some of the other films, but ‘Divergent’ has a huge following. The upcoming film is based on the book written by Veronica Roth, and details the horrific wars of separate factions after an almost apocalyptic event killed off much of humanity.
“The Amazing Spider-Man 2”
Sony is showing off Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) in a big way this year, already releasing teaser-trailers of Jamie Foxx as Electro just for Comic Con itself. Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan and director Marc Webb are all scheduled to appear in Hall H where a full-length trailer will be shown and shared.
“The Wolverine”
Fans can never seem to get enough of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. This new film takes place before the other stories in the series (well Days of Future past jumps around a lot so we’ll see the time-frame) but Jackman himself will be there to answer questions and show off his claws.
