It has been quite a run for the stars of ABC’s ‘Secret Life of American Teenager,’ but the series has ended (June 3, 2013) and Woodley has moved on. Woodley has already proved herself to be a wonderful actress on both TV and Film. Recently Shailene Woodley posed for Interview and talks about her experience with Hollywood, but even though she is sitting with the current female star of the Amazing Spider-Man franchise, they fail to talk about her upcoming role as Spidey’s main-squeeze.
The actress is still young (21), beautiful and has a popular series and an immensely popular film under her belt (The Descendants). Woodley is prepping to replace Emma Stone (who sat to interview Woodley) as the female lead in the third installment of ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ franchise. Woodley will play one of the most iconic of all superhero girlfriends, the girl-next-door, ‘Mary Jane Watson’. Woodley sat down recently to be featured in Interview‘s August issue, the images you can see below via Interview.
Although both actors share a franchise together, they didn’t talk about Woodley’s upcoming role. Instead the conversation turned to Hollywood and the deception that is made to the public about its stars. Woodley told Stone that the reason she attends premieres and events so understated, was because of photos she saw of herself in other magazines. The actress said, “I had big red lips … boobs about three times the size they are in real life,” she says. “My stomach was completely flat. My skin was also flawless.” Woodley then continued, “But the reality is that I do not have those lips and my skin is not flawless and I do have a little bit of a stomach,” she adds. “It was not a proper representation of who I am, I just want to be me.”
The fans of the franchise should be excited to see Woodley take on the role of Mary-Jane, the last actress to take the part was Kirsten Dunst in 2007, when she played opposite Tobey Maguire. Originally Mary-Jane was planned to enter into the franchise in the sequel (launching on May 2, 2014 from Sony Pictures) but instead it was decided that more could be done with Emma Stone’s character and Mary Jane was pushed back to the third movie. Sony has already announced that it plans to bring a third and fourth installment to the series, which is one of Sony’s most lucrative franchises.
