Lady Gaga fans should be excited to learn that the performer’s next album (ARTPOP) now has a release date. The new album will be available this November and will also launch alongside a new app.
This will mark Gaga’s third album, the official release date is November 11, 2013. The app on the other hand is something a little different, in a statement released earlier today Gaga describes the app as “a musicial and visual engineering system that combines music, art, fashion and technology.” The app will help share the “adrenaline of fame.”
The first single for the album will release on August 19, 2013. Fans can pre-order the album starting on September 1, 2013. The album has been in the works for at least a year, that’s when the first mention of “ARTPOP” hit the internet.
In the same statement Gaga described the album briefly, saying ““musically mirrors Gaga’s creative process as she passes through the medium of each artist she collaborates with, scoring a blueprint on her journey.” The result, we’re told, is “a ‘rage’ of electronic passion and fury defining each artistic process from beginning to end. ARTPOP could mean anything.”
Jeff Koons will be with Gaga on November 10th, on the eve of the album drop, Gaga is hosting an evening of “artRave” with other collaborators. Gaga is coming off surgery, after an injured hip caused the pop-sensation to prematurely cancel her “Born This Way Ball” tour early this year. That injury cancelled 22 shows and a refund of 200,000 tickets ($25 million).
