The View co-host since 2003, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, has decided to leave ABC’s daytime talk-show and instead will sit on the Fox News Channel’s couch, she is joining “Fox & Friends.”
It was confirmed last night that Hasselbeck would be leaving “The View”. The conservative talk-show host often times disagreed with the other ladies, but it seems she will be leaving on good terms. She has spent 10 years on The View and today was her last day. Her departure was sudden, leaving only the day after it was announced that she will join “Fox & Friends” morning show, she is expected to begin in September.
When Hasselbeck took to the ABC stage, Hasselbeck said goodbye alongside the show’s creator, Barbara Walters, who is retiring next year. Hasselbeck’s entire career started as a contestant on “Survivor”. She now has two cookbooks and is onto her second leading show. Fox News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes said that Hasselbeck’s “warm and engaging personality made her a star” and an “excellent conversationalist.” .
Walters said, “We have had 10 wonderful years with her, and she will now be swimming in new waters. We will miss her and wish her everything good.” Joy Behar is also leaving, all that will remain of the current cast are Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd.
