GameStop no longer accepting pre-orders for standalone PS4 consoles
Console bundles are usually a big hit around the holidays, but when a new console like the PS4 hits the market, the higher price has a lot of people buying the standard console option. As we get closer and closer to the holiday season, and the fall launch of the PS4, you can expect many stores to start selling out of the highly coveted PS4 from Sony.
GameStop has many PS4 bundles to choose from (Kllzone, Call of Duty Ghosts, Watch Dogs, Battlefield 4, Assassin’s Creed 4 and Madden 25 to name the most popular options) but now the retailer has removed the standalone PS4 console as an option on their website.
If you visite the website, you will see “NOT AVAILABLE” on the standard PS4 console page, but the other higher priced bundles are still an option for buyers. The standard console price is $399.99, while the higher-priced bundles come in at $459.
Don’t despair though, if you are still looking for a PS4 standalone unit you can pre-order them online. Your best bet would be Amazon at the moment, the online giant seems to have a gigantic stock of PS4 units available, and has been filling orders since the console went live at E3 2013 in June.
Amazon not only offers the $399 standalone option but bundles as well, and it is part of the Amazon PRIME free shipping service. If you are planning on buying a PS4 or gifting one this holiday season, it’s better to reserve one now, rather than face the crowds as we get closer to launch and the holiday season.
