Earlier this month a Big Brother 15 contestant went on a homophobic and racist rant while using the show’s news feed, because of that outburst, Zephyr Talent of Austin is dropping Aaryn Gries.
The 22 year-old model/reality-contestant was dropped by the Texas-based modeling agency, the company announced the news on its Facebook page. The company stated, “Aaryn, season 15 cast member of Big Brother, revealed prejudices and other beliefs that we [Zephyr Talent] do not condone,” it continues, “We certainly find the statements made by Aaryn on the live Internet feed to be offensive. Any views or opinions expressed in personal commentary by Aaryn, either on any live feed from the House or during the broadcast, are hers alone and do not represent the views or opinions of Zephyr Talent. Upon much consideration, we have decided to release Aaryn from her contract with Zephyr Talent.”
CBS has yet to air the moments on TV, the network released a statement earlier saying it does not condone such beliefs. There is an online petition, on Change.Org that wants Gries’ removed from the show.
Gries is an “outgoing, driven and spontaneous” college student, that’s how she described herself. When asked on how she would win the contest Gries stated, “what I need to do to make it through, but I’m sure there will be moments of weakness where I second guess myself. I will use my Psychology training as best as I can and try to be strategic.”
Gries said her biggest fear going on the show was, “People with evil or absent minds that hurt or deceive others.” Though she may update that fear to out-of-work model by the time everything is over.
