Talks are already underway at DreamWorks to move forward with a new adaptation of the John Steinbeck classic ‘The Grapes of Wrath’, the story was already a film in 1940 through FOX.
After the enormous success of ‘The Great Gatsby’ it’s no wonder that studios are digging through the archives of American literature to find new films. The story itself is of the Joad family, moving west and suffering through a drought and hard times. If the talks are successful it will have Steven Spielberg producing.
We mentioned before that ‘The Great Gatsby’ is sure to start a new trend in cinema, but DreamWorks already has a classic film underway, the remake of the Alfred Hitchcock thriller “Rebecca”. That film does not have a release window but currently has Nikolaj Arcel planned to direct.
More information on ‘The Grapes of Wrath’ remake will be released as the studio moves forward in securing the rights. We will keep you updated on its progress.
