President Obama shares video to Facebook documenting history of marriage equality

 
Yesterday saw the Supreme Court’s historic ruling that officially struck down the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). The Supreme Court declared that DOMA was unconstitutional opening the chance for gay-marriage to become a federal law in this country.
 
After the ruling President Obama shared a video to Facebook which quickly documents the history of our country’s fight for marriage equality. The video itself was made by Obama campaign’s Organizing for Action and HardPin. The video is only two-minute long, it has the title “LGBT Timeline: Love Is Love,” and accurately shows the 13 states where gay marriage is legal and what it took to get just that.
 
With over 50,000 views on YouTube., it is one of the most “liked” media files of the last 24 hours and has been shared with almost 20,000 individuals.
